Description:LEVEL: IV JOB TITLE: Oasis REAL (Reaching Excellence as Leaders) Program SpecialistPROGRAM AREA: Action, Advocacy & EducationFSLA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $37,000- $40,000 Based on Education & ExperienceJOB OBJECTIVE: To co-coordinate and co-lead Juvenile Court, school, and community referred groups for BIPOC males ages 13-18. Co-Facilitate prevention group services sessions through a trauma informed lens and a positive youth development approach, incorporate self-regulation, service learning, college and career opportunities, organize parent and family outings, and actively contribute to the Action Advocacy & Education team.CoordinationEssential Functions:Co-Coordinate recruitment of new REAL group participants.Co-Coordinate and supervise the provision of service/learning and positive youth development principles for young men ages 13-18, using high quality facilitation skills, social emotional learning, and student voice to select curriculum topics. Co-Coordinate and collaborate with Juvenile Court and schools in the provision of diversion and prevention services through REALCo-Coordinate enrichment and educational activities.Co-Coordinate month-long summer programming for youth.Co-Coordinate parent orientation, family outings, and graduation ceremonies. Maintain consistent internal and external communication to ensure participants are receiving the agency support they need (Example: emails, text, phone calls, etc.) post program involvement. Coordinate with community partners for guest speakers relevant to the voiced interests and needs of youth participants.Develop and maintain community partnerships to offer enrichment, service learning, expungement, trade credentialing, entrepreneurship, and college access (or activities) for youth participants. Ensure the timely and accurate collection of data on program activities and outcomes.Supervise program volunteers and encourage reflection and action based on best practices.Connect young people and their families to agency and community resources (ex: Power Youth)Non-Essential Functions: NoneDirect ServicesEssential Functions:Co-Facilitate the referral process for potential participants and follow up contact.Provide intake and assessment services to youth and families referred to the program.Co-Facilitate weekly REAL group sessions and service learning projects using the TOP curriculum and elements of the PLAAY (Preventing Long-term Anger and Aggression in Youth) curriculum. Prepare REAL participants for leadership opportunities.Co-Facilitate a family outing per community-based cohort. Communicate with youth, parents, teachers and partners in order to ensure youth are receiving the support and guidance they need regarding school, mental health, employment, and participation in Oasis Center programming. Provide referrals to crisis counseling services for participants as necessary and appropriate.Provide liaison and referral services with appropriate mental health supports, courts, school systems, DCS and others as needed. (ex: go to court with participants on their court date) Attend monthly team and agency meetings as well as regular supervision.Participate with supervisor and appropriate specialists on specific issue related problems. Related tasks as assigned.Non-Essential Functions:Ability to drive 12 and 15 passenger vanAdministrationEssential Functions:Administer pre and post surveys to participants.Administer, record, and store intake and guardian permission forms for participants.Keep records of each program participant and collect and report attendance promptly.Assist Sr. Director of Action & Advocacy with monthly and quarterly program reporting needs.Assist Sr. Director of Action & Advocacy with ensuring overall program compliance and program performance. Keep in close communication with data support assistant for state-based and internal data reporting. Serve on intra-agency committees when requested or when significant to agency mission.Non-Essential Functions:Represent the agency and programs through presentations, workshops and media.Benefits:Free EO: HDHP, HSA, Vision, Dental, LTDEmployer HSA contribution12 Paid HolidaysPTO 401K + up to 3% MatchPaid parental LeaveRequirements:Minimal Requirements / Performance Standards:Two years of direct service youth experience and/or two years of experience working with court involved youth in a similar setting.Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.Skilled with Court involved youth through an ability to form trusting developmental relationships and create inclusive interactive spaces that promote positive male identities.Comfort speaking to and opening dialogue surrounding structural oppression, racism, violence, poverty and social inequities on males of color.Ability to form strong, caring and affirming relationships with all youth -including LGBTQ+ youth.Clear understanding of racial inequities and other forms of discrimination and willingness to operate from an anti-oppression model.Knowledge and ability to access community resources.Knowledge and ability to apply basic adult learning, counseling, crisis intervention and group work principles.Knowledge and ability to apply science-based prevention principals.Knowledge and ability to apply cultural sensitivity to curriculum development and service delivery.Knowledge and ability to scaffold learning experiences that advance leadership and youth voice.Knowledge and ability to design and deliver training to teens and adults.Knowledge and ability to use computer and other office equipment.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
